What types of the RA are there?locatuon? Size?

A

Minor ( single or groups) - affect
non -keratinised and mobile mucosa
Less than 4 mm in diameter.

Major- single , greater than 1cm, affects masticatory mucosa and Dorsum of tongue.

Herpetiform - usually occur in groups ( crops) 1-2 mm very small , they may coalesce to form larger ulcers. They occur on non-keratinised mucosa

How RA May be treated?

A

1) treat underlying systemic disease
2) Benzydamine Mouth wash
3) corticosteroid ( corlan pellets, Betnesol mouthwash )

4) tetracycline mouthwashes
5) chlorhexidine mouthwash
