A
- what: someone walks into organization and asks if they are hiring or to apply
- ex: sign in window
- pros: inexpensive, time effective
- cons: only reaches limited # of people
- who: lower level positions (not always), organizations that have customers/patrons (need a store-front type place)

- what: recommend someone, incentive system could be used
- pros: hiring similar to current employee, low cost, little effort
- cons: bias/favoritism, could just be referring to help a friend in need or meet incentive requirement
- who: seen at all levels of jobs

- what: recruiting on/at a college campus, internships, job fair (fresh grads. also count)
- choose certain college based on diversity or demographics desired by the organization
- pros: large audience, new grads (could also be a con), captive audience, cheap
- cons: possible inexperienced employees, time consuming
- who: entry level jobs usually, jobs that need a college degree

- pros: little work for employer
- cons: expensive
- who: all jobs - type of agency changes based on employer/organization

- what: announcement that job is open
- pros: wide range of applicants, promotes company’s culture, can choose where advertisement is placed - important where it is placed
- cons: expensive, could reach unqualified applicants
- who: seen at all levels of jobs

- pros: know organization, boots employee moral, loyal
- cons: resentment
- who: common in seasonal jobs
