Define Management
It involves planning and implementing a set of actions that facilitate the transition from one situation to another that is hoped for.
What is the london living wage?
The hourly rate of pay estimated to provide a decent income for people in London. In 2019 it was £10.55 per hour.
Define social progress
The idea that societies can or do improve in terms of their social, political, and economic structure.
Define multiculturalism
The co-existence of different cultural groups. A sharing of living space by people drawn from different cultural backgrounds.
Define hate crime
Crime motivated wholly or in part by the victim’s membership of a racial group or a religious group.
What is meant by cultural and demographic issues?
Issues that include ethnicity, migration, population structure and quality of life
What are the steps followed when dealing with and managing a specific issue?

Why is it challenging to monitor and evaluate how well a particular issue is/ or has been managed?
It is extremely difficult to be completely detached and objective

Social- Ethnic mix, Crime rate
Economic- Increase of house prices
Demographic- Famiy size
Environmental- Declining pollution levels
Why is it difficult to measure the success of strategies to solve cultural and demographic issues in UK rural and urban places?
Different groups of people (stakeholders) will have different priorities
How do employment levels indicate how successfully immigrants have been integrated?
The lower the unemployment level the more integrated the immigrants are
Why can employment levels not be relied on solely to measure how successfully immigrants have been integrated into a place?
Because it shows an average for all ethnicities
Outline some difference between ethnic groups and the proportion of people earning less than the London Living Wage.
Low pay rates vary substantially among ethnic groups.
The largest group of low-paid workers are White British who make up 34% (310,000) of the low paid.
What does GCSE attainment and demography suggest about the management of cultural and demographic issues?
Could argue it suggest they are being managed well – pupils who do not speak English as their first language have a similar attainment as those who do
