Q

What were the causes for the Wyatts rebellion?

A

They all had different motives but they were all linked to the marriage. Wyatts was anti-foreign husband due to the fear of vulnerable position in court.
Widespread xenophobia in London.
Mary tried to claim it was due to her religious polices (less personal).
Fear of becoming jobless due the foreign politicians
Timing suggests the marriage was the trigger and hatred towards Spain combined with rumours of them taking over in court caused fear of loss of power
