What is the difference between the General Conditions and the Special Conditions.
General Conditions are standards set for all projects such as dealing with bids, notifications, proceses etc. Special Conditions are job specific.
What are landscape specifications? Give an Example.
These may include directive for trees to conform to American STandards for Nursery stock etc. or gravel or soil requirements.

Site Preparation, Lighting Plan, Layout plan, Gading plan, Planting Plan
What is the Existing Conditions Plan?
Current elevations or plants.
What does a grading plan show?
Grades at different locations across the site. Spot elevations and Bench marks.
How are contour lines on a topographical map used to indicate a ditch? The need for fill?
The contour lines create a V-shape and the V points uphill.
What is meant by 10 scale?
Gradations measured in tenths of a foot.
Describe how you would measure areas of a planting plan using graph paper.
Decide on a Scale that will work for the space using each box as a measurement
If 15 dwarf yapon holly plants are specified, and the area to be planted is 135 sf what kind of spacing is to be used?
You would give each Holly 9 sf of space to grow. The area is About 11.61 ft each direction. Divide by spaces. So 16 spaces. Space about 1.4 ft apart.
What type of lines are existing vs proposed contours?
Dashed are existing and solid contours typically are Proposed.
