Frightening , large scale events such as the sun darkening or the stars falling from heaven

- The son of man will come to judge the whole of creation
- The end of the current world order will lead to the creation of a new one
- The reign of God will be established
What did the early christians believe about resurrection and the end of time ?
Believed that Jesusβ resurrection meant the end of the world would happen shortly
. All people would be resurrected and taken up into the presence of God

The parable tells the story of a rich man who had everything he wanted in life . But he never gave any food or help to the poor, homeless man called Lazarus who lay at the gates of the house . When both men died, the rich man went to hell and Lazarus went to heaven . In hell, the rich man calls out to Abraham who is in heaven.

- Showing love and kindness to others will lead to people in heaven .
- Wealth can make it easier to forget the needs of others .
- Hell is a place of torment where people are cut off from any relationship with God
- People in hell are conscious of those in heaven

- Having faith in God, and following Jesusβ teachings will lead people to heaven
