What is a wavelength ?
The distance between the same points on two waves .
What is the amplitude ?
The distance from the equilibrium line ( the middle line ) to the top of a wave . You can also say the displacement of the wave .
What is frequency ?
The number of waves that pass a single point per second
What is a period ?
The time taken for a whole wave to completley pass a single point.
What is the equation for wavelength ?
Velocity divided by frequency .
What is the units for frequency ?
Hertz
What do waves do ? Give an example
They transfer energy from one place to another. Sound waves , from your phone to your ears .
What is the displacement in a wave ?
How far the down or up the wave has oscillated .
What does oscillated mean ?
The movement of the wave , how far up or down the wave has gone .
