What is SRAM?
Static RAM - does not need to be refreshed as the transistors indide contiue to hold the data as long as the power is not cut off.
Used in cache memory.
What is DRAM?
Dynamic RAM holds data in a different way. It requires the data to be refreshed periodically in order to retain the data. Cheaper than static RAM - slower and more power hungry.
Used for main RAM memory.
What are the indents in optical storage?
Pits.
What factors do changes in memory technology affect
computer design?
Physical size and capacity.
Costs.
Speed.
Power.
How do physical size and capacity of memory affect computer design?
Memory becomes more compact which leads to smaller computing devices and larger capacities.
How does the cost of memory affect computer design?
Cost of memory falls whcih means it is more affordable to have larger amounts of RAM available.
How does the speed of memory affect computer design?
Read/ write times are improving which mean faster access and better performance.
How does the power of memory affect computer design?
Memory chips are more power-efficient meaning portable devices work for longer between charges and batteries can be smaller and lighter.

Criminal invents a scenario to try to get a victim to divulge information.
Phishing
When a fraudster sends emails claiming to be from a bank or building society so that the victim gives security details.
Shouldering
Finding login detail by direct observation - looking over someone’s shoulder.
Pharming
Scamming practice where malicious code which is installed on a personal computer or DNS server records are modified, misdirecting users to fraudulent websites.
