Q

What was your advice on the project Chelsea Barracks Building 8?

A

I advised the Contractor that they had to measure in accordance with NRM and measure as a m2 rather than in bags of screed. Resulting in a cost saving.

Q

On Chelsea Barracks Building 6, you mentioned the Contractor was in delay and you reassessed the value of prelims. What are the two methods of doing this?

A

1) You take away the number of weeks delay from the amount complete. Ie, if 50 weeks had gone by in a 100 week programme, if the Contractor is 10 weeks late you would take the 10 weeks from the 50. So (50-10)/100.

2) You add on the number of weeks delay to the overall contract period. Ie, same example as above, 50/(100+10).

Q

How did you reassess the Contractor’s delay on Chelsea Barracks Building 6?

A

I added on the number of weeks delay onto the total period of time. Ie, the Contractor was reporting a delay of 5 weeks so I added this on to the overall period length.

I am aware that by taking the number of weeks in delay away from the amount complete
