What is quality assurance (QA)?
This is the process where the designer states the quality he wants the product to be made to. The products are safe, a good value for money, and efficiently produced.
What is quality control ? (QC)
This is where the standards are checked at critical points in order to ensure standards are maintained. Many processes are controlled in order to ensure the quality is checked against the norm.
What is tolerance?
A range of accuracy is set. The tools can wear and change position over time and therefore, as soon as the range is surpassed, the production is stopped and adjustments are made to cut on waste.
When is quality control used?
This is used to see when proofs are printed for the publisher to check prior to printing.
