Unilateral: ipsilateral lateral flexion when hip is flexed
elevates pelvis on same side when spine is fixed
Bilateral: stabilizes spineassist expiration

O: TPs and lateral VBs/IVDs from t12-l5
I: Lesser trochanter of femur
What is the action of psoas major?
Flexion of femur
External rotation of femur
Flexion of lumbar spine
*contributes to lordosis

O: lateral aspect of t12 VB
I: iliopectineal eminence
What is the action of psoas minor?
Lumbar flexion
What is the origin and insertion of iliacus?
O: iliac fossa
I: lesser trochanter of femur
