A
Temperature >38.3 for > 3 weeks with no obvious source despirte appropriate investigations

Causes
A
- infections (35%)- abscesses, emypema, bacteria, rhuematic fever
- neoplasms (25%)- lymphoma
- connective tissue disease (20%)- RA, SLE, polyarteririts
- miscellanous - sarcoid

examples of intermittent fevers
A
- always think of malaria
- septicaemia
- UTI
- pelvic inflammatory disease
- Daily spikes- abscesses, TB schistomiasis
- twice daily - leishmanias
- saddleback fever (fever for 7 then normal)- colarado tick fever
