What are some of the positive symptoms of schizophrenia?
Delusions, Auditory hallucinations and disorganised speech and behaviour
Psychosis is the general term for disorders that involve what?
A loss of contact with reality
What are the negative symptoms of schizophrenia?
Losing emotional responses, Inability to feel remorse, Lack of motivation and a disorganised aspect
The DSM-IV classification of schizophrenia must consist of two or more of what symptoms?
Delusions, Hallucinations, Disorganised speech and disorganised behaviour and negative symptoms
What else is included in the DSM-IV classification?
Social occupational dysfunction, at least a 6 month duration and no other explanation has been found
What are some of the symptoms included in the ICD-10 classification of schizophrenia?
Thought echoes, delusions of control, hallucinatory voices, persistent delusions and hallucinations and incoherent or irrelevant speech
What is a negative symptom in the ICD-10 classification?
Marked apathy
