0-1 years old
What is the age of the anal stage?
1-3 years

3-5 years
What is the description of the oral stage?
Focus on pleasure is in the MOUTH. Mothers BREAST being the object of desire.
What is the description of the anal stage?
Focus of pleasure is in the ANAL. Child gains pleasure from WITHHOLDING or EXPELLING faeces
What is the description of the phallic stage?
focus of pleasure is in the GENITAL area.
child experiences the OEDIPUS or ELECTRA COMPLEX
What is the consequence if unresolved, of the oral stage?
ORAL fixation. e.g. smoking, biting nails, sarcastic, critical.
What is the consequence if unresolved, of the anal stage?
Anal RETENTIVE. E.g. perfecionist, obsessive.
OR
Anal EXPULSIVE: thoughtless and messy.
What is the consequence if unresolved, of the phallic stage?
Phallic PERESONALITY. E.g. narcisstic, reckless, homosexual.
What is the consequence if unresolved, of the genital stage?
Difficulty forming heterosexual relationships.
What is the description of genital stage?
Sexual desires become CONSCIOUS alongside the onset of puberty.
