Q
What are the weaknesses for the two process model?
A
- it’s based on the idea that traumatic events cause phobias which isn’t the case for evolutionary survival phobias that are genetically programmed and are stimulated by ancient fears (Seligman)
- Dinardo says that humans inherit genetic vulnerabilities for developing mental disorders which are triggered by traumatic events which implies that the development of phobias are more complexed than the behavioural approach
