Chunking
The process of grouping different parts of information together into more manageable or meaningful chunks
Declarative Memory
A type of long-term memory that involves conscious recollection of particular facts and events
Divided Attention
mental focus is directed to multiple ideas or tasks at the same time
Encoding
The process of transforming sensory information (such as visual, auditory, or tactile stimuli) into meaningful patterns and association that can be stored in memory
Episodic Memory
a type of long-term memory that allows us to remember specific personal experiences and events from our past
Explicit Memory
the conscious retrieval from memory. (what we are conscious about such as recalling a fact)
Hippocampus
It is located in around the middle of the brain that stores episodic memories and creates new memories.

Implicit Memory
the ability to remember things or skills without consciously thinking about them
Long-term Memory
the storage of information and experiences over an extended period of time (such as a day, week, month, year)
Long-term Potentiation
phenomenon in neuroscience where the strength of connections between neurons in the brain is enhanced after repeated and persistent stimulation. It is a process that underlies the formation and consolidation of long-term memories.
Neuron
A type of cell that receives and sends messages from the body to the brain and back to the body
