A

A

It is another talking therapy.
It aims to increase your activity levels in small and manageable ways (step-wise) to reduce depression.

Mostly used for depression.

A

A talking therapy which helps identify problems in a persons relationship between family/friends etc.

Usually used when the patient is depressed.

It aims to improve relationships which will improve depression - and vice versa.

A counselling approach used when someone is on the edge of changing their behaviour. It is used to give them motivation.

A
  1. Pre-contemplation - before they have thought about anything, don’t think theres a problem
  2. Contemplation - become aware that there might be a problem they want to change (this stage might last forever)
  3. Planning - decided they have a problem and are planning on how to change
  4. Maintenance - taking action, along with preventing relapse

  1. Pre-contemplation - say you are there to help if they want
  2. Contemplation - give information, risk screening and tell them pros and cons
  3. Planning - options of how to change, help build confidence and motivation
  4. Maintenance - give strategies to maintain goals and give encouragement in failures, help them get back on the wheel if they fall off
