  4. identification - unconscious -behave like influential person

  6. isolation of affect - understand but cant feel - numb

  8. reaction formation - loving a rival - diametrical opposal
  9. regresssion - behave like child during stress
  10. undoing -superstitions to undo thoughts/behavior
