Q

Radial head resection vs radial head prosthesis

A

If ulnar ligament intact, can be excised (no luxation)
If radial head lfracture-dislocation (including Essex Lopresti), prosthesis (cave no silicone prosthesis for Essex-Lopresti)

Q

Radial Head Approach

A

Kocher aka lateral aka posterolateral approach between:

  • Anconeus (radial n.)
  • ECU (PIN)
    • incise supinator in pronation to move PIN away, stay posterior to avoid PIN lesion

Alternative : Kaplan

  • ED
  • ECRB/ECRL
  • CAVE n.radialis
