A

Taking with dairy foods decreases absorption

All of these cross placental barrier and concentrate in fetal bones and dentition

erythro and azithro are excreted via?

A

bile, no adjustments need to be made for renal

18
Q

Chloramphenicol

A

Very toxic, wide spectrum abx.

Use restricted only for life-threatening infections

19
Q

Gray baby syndrome

A

caused by chloramphenicol and kills babies.

20
Q

Clindamycin

A

Great anaerobic converage and also active against gram+ cocci.
Does not absorb into CSF
Used to treat penetrating gut wounds

21
Q

Clostridium difficile is always resistant to_____?

A

Clindamycin, can cause secondary infxn.
