Processes within the group formally start the project.
Identify and analyze stakeholder to align their expectations and provides guidance for the project in terms of the organizations strategic objectives high level scope and known constraints

The process of continually refining estimates and scope.
PM plan is finalized in planning but items like scope, estimates and product scope might be clarified over time as the work is being done in executing and monitoring.
Planning process
Perform a detailed analysis of whether the objectives in the project charter can be achieved. Then deciding how the project including its strategic objectives will be accomplished using the project management processes and knowledge areas

Monitoring and controlling process
Measuring the performance of the project against the project management plan and approving change requests, recommended correct actions, preventive action and defect repair
Executing process
Complete the work defined in the project management plan and meet the project objectives.
Achieve the project deliverables within the planned budget and schedule
Closing process
When the project is finished.
Includes administrative activities; finalizing paperwork; technical work to confirm that the final product is acceptable
