Profiles Flashcards

1
Q

Normal Takeoff profile

A
  1. ) TOGA mode (TO/TO set but pushing the TOGA buttons on the throttles) and RWY HDG verified
  2. ) PF sets thrust to climb detent and says, “set thrust”
  3. ) PM sets thrust to TOGA detent, verifies correct N1, and says, “thrust set.” (No later than 60kts)
  4. ) PM, “80kts”
  5. ) PF “checked” (verified off own PFD)
  6. ) PM “V1, rotate”
  7. ) Continue via the normal takeoff/climb profile

Q

What’s different about the normal takeoff profile if a static takeoff is required?

A

Instead of rolling into the takeoff, the PF will stand on the brakes until approximately 79% N1 before releasing the brakes

Q

Normal takeoff/climb with flaps 8 profile

A
  1. ) PM, “positive rate”
  2. ) PF, “Gear up, speed mode”
    - The PM would then select gear up and select speed mode
  3. ) PF verifies the FMA and states the mode, e.g., “Climb 152”
  4. ) @ 400’AGL, PF, “HDG/NAV mode”
    - The PM would then select the requested mode
  5. ) PF verifies the FMA changes and says, “Heading” or “FMS”
  6. ) @ 600’AGL, PF, “AP on”
  7. ) PM, selects AP on and says, “AP on”
  8. ) @ Acceleration altitude (1000 AFE or as specified), PM, “Acceleration altitude”
  9. ) PF then either calls for or selects himself the appropriate speed (usually either 250kias or 200kias)
  10. ) PF, “Flaps 1” (basically immediately afterwards as long as your V2 +12kts)
  11. ) PF, “Flaps up, set climb trust” (at Vt-15tks)
  12. ) After takeoff flow items
  13. ) PF, “after takeoff checklist” (says at 10,000’ or cruise???)

Q

How is a flaps 20 takeoff/climb different than a flaps 8 takeoff/climb profile?

A

Flaps are retracted at different speeds. For flaps 20…

1. ) Flaps 8 are set at V2 + 12kts
2. ) Flaps 1 are set at V2 + 20kts
3. ) Flaps up at Vt - 15kts

Q

Takeoff with engine fire/failure after V1

A
  1. ) PF moves thrust levers to climb detent
  2. ) PF, “set thrust”
  3. ) PM moves thrust lever to TOGA
  4. ) PM, “thrust set”
  5. ) …
