6
Q

Do the EICAS screens come on with the battery master

A

Yes. But until the APU gets powered up there’s no AC power in the aircraft which means the cooling fans aren’t available. THE EICAS displays will overheat so there’s a 5 minute limitation with just the battery.

Q

Stall advisories

A

Shaker, then pusher, then warbler aural sound.

17
Q

How many aural warning types are there?

A
  1. Should try to be aware of them all.
18
Q

Can the aircraft give you more than one aural warning at a time?

A

No. If multiple sounds are required it will play them in order of priority.

19
Q

EICAS control panel

A

Located on the center pedestal between the pilots. Has buttons with the different pages that can be displayed. Step button goes through each page in order on ED2, which is useful if one of the page buttons is inop.

20
Q

Flow line color

A

Green is normal flow
Amber is low flow
Black is no flow
Red is too high flow

21
Q

MFD reversionary mode

A

Can be in normal, EICAS and PFD mode. So the MFD can display whatever you want t depending on how its selected.

22
Q

Source selection panel

A

Normal, ED1 and ED2 selection. Normal leaves the EICAS in ED1 being primary and ED2 displaying other pages.

23
Q

EICAS message inhibit logic

A

The DCU’s will process inhibit logic to minimize spurious or distracting warning and/or caution messages during the takeoff and landing phases.

24
Q

Inhibit 1

A

Failures won’t be shown on takeoff until 400’AGL

25
Q

Inhibit condition 2

A

Above 100 knots

26
Q

Inhibit condition 3

A

Won’t come on during landing (below 400’ AGL) under 30s after weight on wheels.

27
Q

Takeoff config advisory message

A
To get the message you need to have 7 things
-3 trims in green
-parking break off
-flaps 8º or 20º
-
-
28
Q

Takeoff config warning

A

Armed when on the ground and both engines above N1>70%

29
Q

PASSFAR

A
Parking break - off
Autopilot - off
Spoilers - retracted
Stab trim - green
Flaps - 8º or 20º
Aileron trim - green
Rudder trim - green
30
Q

Maintenance diagnostic computer (MDC)

A

Used to record aircraft mechanical avionics system data. Need to flip the red switch on circuit breaker panel one (behind the captains seat) in order…

31
Q

Flight data recorder

A
  • Records the last 25hrs of flight data
  • Sends information via “flight operations quality assurance (FOQA)” to your company. Can’t be used for disciplinary action but the information is sent to flight safety. That data can be used to determine if you need retraining or other actions required by flight safety.
  • Starts when either the beacon or strobe lights are turned on. If you forget it will also go on with weight off the wheels.
32
Q

Cockpit voice recorder

A

Records last 2 hours on a loop. Starts with battery master on.
