  • Take over and ensure safe flight path
  • Deactivate other sidestick, if needed
    -Declare emergency
    -Call FA
    -Ask for medical help

A

PROCEDURE…
(1) SIGNS…ON
(2) SPEED AND THRUST…ADJUST
(3) AP…KEEP ON

(Main Points)
-If excessive thrust variations…disconnect A/THR
-Don’t chase altitude, focus on maintaining attitude
-DESCENT TO OR BELOW OPT FL…CONSIDER (increase buffet margin)

For landing…
A/THR…USE
FLAPS 3 LANDING…CONSIDER (more energy and less drag)

WINDSHEAR WARNING - PREDICTIVE WINDSHEAR

A

Main Points

WARNINGS are:
PFD:
W/S AHEAD (red)
Aural:
“WINDSHEAR AHEAD”
“GO AROUND WINDSHEAR AHEAD”

CAUTIONS are:
PFD:
W/S AHEAD (amber)
Aural:
“MONITOR RADAR DISPLAY”

Before takeoff (warning and caution)…delay takeoff until conditions improve.

During takeoff roll (warning)…REJECT.

During takeoff roll (caution)…CA decision to CONTINUE with TOGA or REJECT.

Initial climb (warning and caution)…
-Set TOGA
-monitor speed and speed trend
-avoid WS area
-Can change config if not in windshear

Approach…
MONITOR RADAR DISPLAY…
-Delay approach
-Divert
-Continue with appropriate mitigation strategies

Approach (warning)…
-Set TOGA
-GA perform
-SRS follow
