inaccurate data can be a serious problem for organisations as it can lead to incorrect decisions being made. eg incorrectly recorded stock levels could lead to ordering too much of one thing and not enough of something else

IT systems allow us to apply automated checks on data being entered. They don’t ensure that data is 100% accurate, but ensure it is sensible.
