Most prisons are public sector & run by gov but there’s 14 private prisons run by private security companies.
Prisons divided into 4 levels:
Category A – Category D.
Category A is high risk,
maximum security, through to Cat. D: low risk/open prisons.

Prisoners’ privileges depend on behavior:
Basic: No TV in cell, meals in room.
Standard: Entry level.
Enhanced: More gym time, more out-of-room time, extra visits.
Move up by good behavior, down by bad behavior.
