what are the 2 hormones that the hypothalamic regions produce?
Oxytocin
ADH
what gland is closely related to the larynx and trachea?
thyroid gland
what does the thyroid gland need to produce its hormones?i
iodine
what are the 2 hormones which are produced by the thyroid gland?
T3 (we cannot live without T3) and T4
where are the 4 parathyroid glands located?
posterior surfaces of the thyroid gland’s lobe
what do the parathyroid glands do?
controls amount of calcium in blood and bone

What is the blood supply of the thyroid and parathyroid glands?
right inferior thyroid artery
left superior thyroid artery
what is the arterial supply of the pancreas?
coeliac trunk and superior mesenteric artery
what is the venous drainage of the pancreas?
splenic vein and superior mesenteric vein
AND THEN INTO THE HEPATIC PORTAL VEIN
what is the exocrine system?
manufactures digestive enzymes and secretes them via a duct system into the duodenum
what does the adrenal cortex produce?
glucocorticoids = this is under pituirity ACTH control

what does the adrenal medulla produce?
adrenaline
noradrenaline
what are the 3 arterial supply to the adrenal glands?
right superior suprarenal artery
right middle suprarenal artery
right inferior suprarenal artery
what are the gonads?
collective term for the ovaries and the testes
