Pricing and Taxes Flashcards
Condition technique
Largest configuration technique used in sales and distribution module
Used in pricing, text determination, output determination, and material determination–anywhere you have a condition record
The technique that SAP uses to find a choice from among a number of alternatives
Conditions
The specific situations that apply to a sale. Different conditions have different prices.
Condition records
The different conditions and the prices associated with each are stored in SAP in condition records.
Condition table
Where condition records are grouped
There can be multiple tables.
Each table is accessed by the system in a specific sequence called can access sequence.
Condition type
An accesss sequence of condition tables is assigned to a condition type
You can have condiion types for prices, discounts and so on
Grouped together in a determination procedure
Determination procedure
Simply a process to determine a value using the condition technique
Condition Value
The result of the search for a condition
Account determination procedure
A determination procedure to find accounts
Condition Type
Used to define pricing elements such as prices, discounts, surcharges, or taxes
Condition Type field: Condition class
Used by the system to determine what conditions it must re-determine and when
Condition type field: Calulation type
Indicates that the value determined in the condition record will be percentage
Condition type field: Condition category
This condition category is used by the system to categorize condition types into similar groups
Condition type field: Rounding rule
Indicates the system to use commercial rounding in discovering the value of the condition record
3 types
- Commercial round, value < 5 will be rounded down, value >= 5 will be rounded up
- Always round up,
- Always round down
Condition type field: Structured condition
Indicate the condition type is not relevant for a cumulation of values of a bill of materials nor is it relevant to be duplicated across all sub-items of a bill of materials
Condition type field: Plus/minus
Indicates that this condition will have a positive or negative affect on the price
Condition type “Changes which can be made” area
Defines what manual changes are permitted to the condition record
Condition type field: Valid from and to fields
Propose the default validity dates the condition records will show when they are created
Condition type field: Reference condition type
You have more than one condition type that are very similar in usage and have the same condition records, but differ slightly in description, or calculation type
Condition type field: Scale basis
indicates how the scale of the condition records must be calculated
Condition type field: Scale formula
Used with a routine to determine the scale base value
Condition type field: The check value field
Determines if the scale should always be ascending or descending or indicates that the scale is not checked
Condition type field: The unit of measure field
Forces the system to use this particular unit of measure when calculating the scale
Condition type field: the scale type
Indicates the scale is able to be set up in the condition record
Condition type field: Currency conversion
If checked, causes the system to convert the condition currency to the document currency after the multiplication of the items
If unchecked, the system converts the currency of the condition into the document currency before multiplying the value for the items
Condition type field: Accurals check box
Makes the value determined by this condition type statistical
Condition type field: inter-company billing condition
Permits you to indicate that this condition type is used for internal costing
Condition type field: Exclusion field
Condition type field: Date of pricing
System date that must be used to determine a condiiton record’s validity
Condition type field: Relevance for account assignment
Used to identify if standard account determination or specific account determination must take place, which identifies this condition value, to controlling
Condition type field: Text determination and text ID
Used to determine if a text is relevant

Customizing Steps in Pricing
- Put the fields you will need into the field catalog
- Create the condition tables you will need
- Create the access sequence you will need
- Assign the condition tables to the accesss sequence
- Create the condition types
- Assign the access sequence to the condition types
- Create the determination procedure (pricing procedure), if necessary, and assign the condition types to it
- Assign the determination procedure
- Lastly, create your condition records
Pricing procedure
Responsible for mpping the business needs and processes–for example, correct pricing and discounting–while keeping to the legal requirements placed on the business–for example, adhering to the tax laws of the respective country
Consists of a list of condition types in a defined order
Has totals that can be used for further processing
Used in account determination
Pricing procedure fields: Step
Step or order of the condition type in the procedure
Pricing procedure field: CTyp
Condition type
Pricing procedure field: sub-total or total
You enter in a number manually and then a description without a condition type
Pricing procedure field: To and From
Two uses
- To define the range for a subtotal, if you want to add up all the condition types from step 10 to 50, you would enter 10 and 50 in the From and To columns, respectively
- TO define the basis for a calculation, if a discount is defined as a percentage, you need to indicate which step must be used as the basis for the calculation. If the calulation must be performed on step 100, you would enter 100 in the From field.
Pricing procedure field: Man
Used to indicate if the condition type for which it is assigned to is allowed to be processed automatically or only manually
Pricing procedure field: Mdt
Used to identify those condition types that are mandatory in the pricing procedure
Pricing procedure field: Statistical entries
Affect the pricing procedure in that they will not be included in the Net Value Calculation for that item
Pricing procedure field: Stat column
Used by the pricing procedure to add a value statistically. The value represented for this step will not alter the overall value in the procedure.
Pricing procedure field: P
Print, used to determine what descriptions and associated values assigned to a step are to be printed on a document
Pricing procedure field: SubTo
Used to assign a subtotal key to a step in the pricing procedure
subtotal fields are then used in other areas of the system such as the logistics information system
Pricing procedure field: Reqt
Used to assign a requirement to the condition type
Pricing procedure field: AltCTy
Used to specify that the system is to use the formula represented as an alternative in finding the value of the condition type, rather than by using the standard condition technique
May be used to calculate complex tax scenarios
Pricing procedure field: AltCBV (alternative condition base value)
indicates a formula assigned to a condition type in order to promote an alternative base value for the calculation of a value
Pricing procedure field: ActKy (account key) and Accrls (accruals account key)
Used to assign account keys that in turn are assigned to general ledger accounts, which are used by the Finance department to register postings
General Pricing Procedure Notes
Credit management, system uses the value as stored in the subtotal A
Payment terms, Generate a discount if the amount due is paid before a specific date. Automatically used by the system and requires the condition type to be in the pricing procedure.
Cost of sales, system automatically uses condition type VPRS as the condition to represent cost
Rebate,
Pricing Procedure Determination
Allocated to the sales document or billing document by a determination rule, similar to the other determination rules
Based on the customer master record, sales document and the sales area
Customer Pricing Procedure Indicator
Must be maintained before determination rules
Document Pricing Procedure Indicator
Ensures that all document types assigned the relevant Document Pricing Procedure will use the same pricing procedure if created in the same sales area and with the same Customer Pricing Proedure
Pricing Limits
Condition types are governed with a limit
Condition Exclusion Groups
Grouping of condition types that are compared to each other during pricing and result in the exclusion of particular condition types within a group or entire groups
Condition Supplements
Group of conditions that you want to apply every time a certain condition is found
Tax Determination
SAP automatically determines and calculates taxes based on the organizational structure, country, region, or city of delivering plants and country of receiving customer, in combination with tax relevancy indicators on the customer master record and material mater record.
Tax Determination Rules
System determines relevant taxes according to the country of the delivering plant, plus the country of the customer receiving the goods, in combination with the tax indicator of the customer master record and the tax indicator of the material mater record.
Account Assignment
Condition Technique is used for account determination in order to allocate the correct general ledger
Account Determination Procedure
This procedure contains a condition type which finds which account to post to based on the conditions of the sale
Requirements
Represented by routines in the system source code, check for certain criteria during the execution of functions
Copying Requirements
Used in the same way as standard requirements by the system–they check for certain criteria as preconditions for carrying out the copying function
Data transfer routines
Used during copying control to fine-tune what data is necessary to transfer between documents. These transfer routines may also alter copied data.
Formulas
Represented by routines in ABAP code
Used in pricing and influence the determination of prices
