Gravity
The force of attraction that is between two bodies and is generated by their masses
Light-year (ly)
Unit of distance = to the distance light trael in one year which is about 6 trillon miles
Neutrino
Created by the sun and other stars as they fuse hydrogen into helium, and also by supernova explosions
Neutrons
Particle wwith no electric charge, but has the same mass as a proton
Protons
Postively charged particle inside the Nucleus
Nucleus
Core of the atom and it is positively charged
Atom
Consists of a nucleus and orbiting electrons and is the smallest unit of a chemical element
Electron
Negatively charged particle that orbits the atomic nucleus
Dark Matter
Emits no detectable radiation but whose presence can be deduced by its gravitational attraction on other bodies
Electric Charge
Charge that causes property of objects to either attract or repel one another. Same sign repel and different signs attract
Electromagnetic force
Holds electrons to the nucleus of atoms
Astronomical Unit (AU)
Ditance basedon the average distance of Earth from the Sun
Weak Force
Force responsible for radioactive decay of atoms
Dark Energy
Form of energy that causes the expansion of the universe to speed up
The Sun
100 times tha dimater of the Earth and more than 300,000 times more massive
