Annular Eclipse
An eclipse in which the body in front does not completely cover the other
Celestial Equator
Imaginary line of the celestial sphere lying exactly above the Earth’s equator and it divides the celestial sphers into Northtern and Southtern Hemisphere
Celestial Poles
Imaginary point on the celestial sphere directly above the Earth’s North or South Pole
Constellation
Grouping of stars in the night sky
Eclipse Season
Time of year when eclipses are possible at any given eclipse season and are separated by 6 months
Ecliptic
The path that the sun appears to make aroud the celestial sphere as the Earth moves along its orbit
Equinox
The time of year when the sun appears to cross the celestial equator and the number of day and night are equal
Horizon
The line that seperates the sky from the ground
Lunar Eclipse
When the Earth is between the Sun and the Moon
Phase
The change of the moon
Precession
The slow change of direction of the pole (Rotation Axis)
Rotation Axis
An imaginary line through the center of a body in which the body spins
Solar Eclipse
When the Moon is between the Sun and Earth and the Moon blocks off the sun
Solistice
The beginning of winter and summer
