Pressurisation Flashcards
In single engine operations, when might the APU bleed be available?
When engine 2 has failed
With the loss of both FMGCs, how will the pressurisation obtain the landing elevation, what is the procedure?
You have to select it yourself
With the loss of CPC 1 and 2, how is the cabin altitude controlled?
You have to do it manually
When using the MAN V/S toggle, what happens to the outflow valve when the toggle is selected up?
It opens (check)
What is the ram air used for, what is its purpose?
Ventilates the cockpit and cabin to remove smoke or if both packs fail. When the Ram Air push button is press, the outflow valve opens 50% provided it is under automatic control. If manual is selected, it won’t open
How many motors drive the outflow valve and why?
3
2 automatic motors, 1 manual motor incase the automatic motors fail
On takeoff, why does the pressurisation system Slightly pressurise the cabin.
To avoid a pressure surge at rotation, the controller pre-pressurises the A/C at 400ft/min until 0.1 PSI
What is the purpose of the residual pressure control unit
Automatically depressurises the A/C in case of residual pressure on ground. It automatically opens the outflow valve when:
1. The outflow valve is not fully open
Both CPC are failed or manual mode is selected and
2. The A/C is on the ground and
3. All engines are shutdown or all ADIRS indicate an airspeed below 100kt
