ECAM Flashcards
Can you state the warning and caution classifications?
Level 1 - Amber caution, requires crew monitoring.
Failure leads to a loss of redundancy or a downgrade
Level 2 - Amber caution. Flight crew should be aware of the configuration or failure but does not need to take immediate action. E.g. FCDC Fault
System failure without any direct consequence on the flight safety e.g. HYD G SYS LO PR
Level 3 - Red Warning, the configuration of failure requires immediate action.
Aircraft in dangerous configuration or limit flight conditions (e.g. stall or overspeed)
System failure altering flight safety (engine fire, excess cab alt)
Can you explain what a secondary, primary and independent failure is and can you give an example of a primary failure?
Primary failure: a failure of a system or item of equipment that causes the loss of other systems or items of equipment
Secondary: the loss of a system or item of equipment resulting from a primary failure
Independent: a failure that effects an isolated system or item of equipment without degrading the performance of other systems
