6
Q

What is the purpose of generator 1 line on the overhead?

A

Turning it off keeps generator 1 still running but AC BUS is being powered by GEN2. This allows the fuels pumps to be powered separately.

Q

What is the difference between selecting the generator off and the IDG off?

A

Gen 1 turns the generator 1 off and is reversible. IDG disconnects the IDG and isn’t reversible in flight

15
Q

Discuss AC ESS BUS fault

A

Lose PFD and ND 1 and Upper DU so CM2 is PF.

Single DU display so you have to push and hold the system page.

16
Q

Discuss AC2 BUS Fault (I.e. what happened to the screen, AP etc.

A

You lose PFD and ND 2, Lower DU.

As the lower DU is lost, you have to push and hold the system button

17
Q

With the loss of TR1, what powers DC ESS Bus?

A

AC ESS through the ESS TR

18
Q

In normal config, what powers DC ESS BUS and what if AC BUSS 1 fails?

A

DC BUS 1.

AC ESS BUS through the ESS TR

19
Q

What power does the generator give?

A

AC power

20
Q

What powers the DC ESS BUS?

A

DC BUS 1

21
Q

You’re in EMER ELEC. Can you start the APU

A

Yes, after 45s and below 25,000ft

22
Q

DC ESS Fault Key Points

A

AP1 INOP so use AP2
VHF 1 INOP, retune Freq on VHF2 on RMP2
Turn VHF transmit and audio Pb on RMP 3
Switching panel to FO 3 & CM1 speaker loud
Blue HYD lost and indicators on other systems but triangles and white title indicate green and blue have pressure
Shutdown engine on stand with the fire Pb
