A

Condition for no destination Alternate?

A

Either:
1. Dispatched under the Alternative Flight Planning Procedures

  1. The duration of the planned flight does not exceed 6 hours
  2. 2 separate runways are available and usable at the destination and the appropriate weather reports or forecasts for the destination indicate that for a period from 1 hour before until 1 hour after the ETA, the ceiling will be at least 2,000ft or circling height +500ft, whichever is greater and the visibility will be at least 5km

Or

The aerodrome is isolated

When do you need a take-off alternate and what’s required?

A

When performance or met conditions preclude a return to the departure aerodrome.

It has to be within 1 hour still air flight time with OEI, in ISA conditions based on actual takeoff weight and within 320nm.
