What does “a” express? What happens “a” + “el”?
- Expresa dirección a la que una persona va.

What does “ante” express?
Estar situado delante de algo o alguien ie “before”, “in front of” you
Si miras a tu izquierda, el edificio de correos está ante ti.
If you look to the left, the post office building is standing before you.
What does “bajo” express?
Estar situado debajo de algo o alguien ie under
Van a construir un parking subterráneo bajo el centro comercial.
They are going to build an underground carpark under the shopping centre.
What does “de” express?
Indica el origen del que una persona viene ie from, de + el = del
Mi madre acaba de llegar del supermercado.
My mother has just got back from the supermarket.
acabo de llegar = just got back from = just arrived from
What does “desde” express?
Indica el origen de un trayecto ie where the journey started
Cada mañana, Luis va con su bici desde su casa al trabajo.
Every morning Luis comes on his bike to work from home.

- Estar situado sobre algo = to be located over something

- Tu teléfono móvil está en la mesa.

What does “entre” express?
Estar situado en un lugar medio = to be in, or situated at, a location ie “between” or “among”
La frutería está entre la pescadería y la carnicería.
The fruit shop is between the fishmonger and butcher.
