To describe how old someone is now eg X is 3 years old
where do you place the “de”?
In front of the age statement eg de tres años

Cervantes died [when he was] 78 years [old]

where the price is variable

How much is a kilo of apples?
Está a un euro por kilo.

To indicate “the worth” of something

when using concept of “exchange for” eg barter, FX, but also even when buying something
