should be impervious and easily cleanable, have full clean after each session with disposable cloth, water + detergent. after every patient all surfaces should be cleaned with a disinfectant wipe or spray to reduce viral contamination between patients. where possible barrier techniques e.g handle coverings be used and changed between each patient

dental chair, light, bracket, table, spittoon and amalgamator should be wiped down after every use with suitable disinfectant/detergent

follow manufacturers instructions in regards to lubrication + sterilisation. they should be wiped down with disinfectant/detergent prior to sterilisation or if pos, put into washer-disinfector

where possible, use single use items and dispose after use. wire brushes should not be used as this may allow corrosion and harbour micro-organisms more easily
