What is aversive racism?
Conflict between negative emotions toward group and belief of egalitarian values. The conflict causes shame and so avoid group.

What is implicit prejudice and infra humanisation
Implicit prejudice is unintentionally activated
Infrahumanization-tendency to attribute primary emotions outgroup members. See them as less than human and so feel can justify behaviour.

Authoritan. This is when had overly strict parents and so the hostile emotions towards them are directed towards weaker targets.
What is social dominance orientation
Extent to which support group bases hierarchies.
What does the contact hypothesis state
Contact between groups in suitable environments can lead to reduced bias. Must have social norms favouring equality, occur under equal status, and involve cooperation.
Hewston-contact can generalise to outgroup.

What does the indirect contact hypothesis say
Not always opportunity for contact. So knowledge a member has a friend can reduce bias-reduces anxiety.
