Q

Cue arousal theory

Study by berowitz

A

Environmental cues that are generated by frustrating situation. Aggression occurs if appropriate cues in environment.
Berowitz-participants given electric shocks. More shocks more anger. Give shocks back. If gun present and on table-more shocks.

Q

Personality

Study by carver

Q

Other factors influencing aggression

A

Alcohol-individual differences. Alcohol blood level needs to be increasing for aggression. As arousal higher and cognitive functions lower.
Physical environment-higher temp, higher density and noise.
Social disadvantage
Cultural influences-difficult to test.
