What is a non-communicable disease?
A disease of a lifestyle and health behaviours play a role in development
Theory of planned behaviour
Intention predicts behaviour. Intention is predicted by attitude, subjective norms and percieved behavioural control (how easy it is to act behaviour)
Transtheoretical model
Five stages to change behaviour-precontemplation, contemplation, preparation, action, Maintenence
Implantation intention
Fail to live up to intentions. So devise a if-then strategy
What is affiliation
A social link formed between two or more individuals
What is the privacy regulation theory. Including the dialectic principle and optimisation principle.
Ideal level of privacy fluctuates over time.
Dialectic-individual variation in desire for privacy. Can change within hours.
Optimisation-try to align actual level of contact with desired level.

Connor-participants had pagers and reported whether they were alone or not and their preference. Consistent with their interaction with people.
Definition of social anxiety
Unpleasant emotion experienced due to concern with interpersonal interaction. They expect rejection and and negative feedback

Social anxiety is based on arousal. Labelling arousal due to other people.
Olson-participants told the noise they were going to hear would make them nervous. Then did speech-misattributed nervousness to noise.
What is loneliness

Absence of contact. Poor quality of relations.
Berschied-lonely people are more likely to have certain traits. Social circumstances play a role-less contact with women. Certain social cognitive tendencies
