Side effects of Prednisolone?
Suppressed growth that can affect puberty development.
High doses can cause Cushings Syndrome which can be reversed when treatment is withdrawn.
Abdominal distension, menstrual irregularities, weight gain
What are the cautions and indications of Prednisolone?
Use with caution with sufferers of hepatic impairment.
Contraindicated in systemic infection.
Can cause psychiatric reactions so monitor family history for psychiatric conditions.
Nursing implication of Prednisolone?
Observe changes in mood and behaviour.
