Pre-Scene/On Scene Evaluation Flashcards
What are the protocols for Crime Scenes?
Use your common sense and your intuition at Crimes Scenes (Death, assault, etc..) Touch only what needs to be touched. Don’t cut through knots or holes in clothes, only move the patient if needed to preform care. Urge rape victims not to wash, change clothes, drink, or use the bathroom.
What are special considerations?
Special considerations could be Advanced Directives, medical tags (be aware of, RBS), suspected infectious disease (wear proper ppe and follow protocols, check your crew), abuse, injury caused by a weapon (notify police), organ donor (notify doctor), medical patches (look for patches, RBS), animals and kids (make sure they are taken care of). Use your common sense when dealing.
