Practice variability
Practice variability refers to the degree to which a coach varies the conditions in which a skill is rehearsed, as well as a number and variety of skills of the practice a training session
- Blocked Practice
- Random Practice
Blocked practice
Blocked practice sessions in both practising the same school in the same practice conditions for a set period of time.
He’s very affective in the early stages of learning particularly more complex movement skills. Useful for Replicating and refining skill execution
Random practice
Random practice of different skills, where the learner and never all really practice is the same task and two consecutive attemps in the same training session
Massed practice
Massed practice sessions involve less frequent training sessions that last for a longer period of time
Distributed practice
Distributed practice involves more frequent training sessions that are shorter in duration
Part V Whole practice
Part practice – breaking the skill down into smaller “ subroutines” and practicing them individually
Whole-Practising the entire skill,As an entire skill
Amount of Ptactice
- How much practice can the athlete complete before they fatigue to a point where practice is no longer positive
- how much practice can the athlete complete before the likelihood of an overuse injury becomes too great
