more than 15 seconds require the use of biothesiometer to quantify the perception.

Scalpel technique
A
- use the number 3 scalpel handle
- foot must be stablised with none scalpel hand and skin around the callus must maintained in a tension position
- debride the callus in two motion from left to right and from top to bttom
- the blade should be parallel to the plane of skin curvature
- pt feet should be at chest level of the podiatrist
- scalpel blade should be parallet at 5 degrees realtive to foot skin
- you should not push the scalpel
