A-Front desk
1- log in to the computer (check the internet is connected
2- double click on the Front desk icon
3- click on the calendar to access the appointment book
4- different colors have different meanings
5- The appointment type will be next to the name of the patient
6- Appointment notes are shown in green marker on the appointment block
7- Hover the mouse to view the appointment notes.
8- an arrived patient will be highlighted green on the appointment block by the receptionist
9- Then, the patient name will appear in the practitioner Queue which means they have arrived
10- a and checking on the patient’s previous notes and visits, Right-click on the patient’s name and click on the patient in a room
11- this will remove the patient’s name from the practitioner queue and change the status to purple
12- Greet the client in the waiting room and guide them to the treatment room ( When you are in the treatment room, remember what to say for direction)
13*- access the client profile by double-clicking their name ( you can do this before selec, there are two tabs including general and clinical.
by clicking on the General you will find some patient information including their name, address, and date of birth. The other Tab is Clinical notes which allows the practitioner starts to take notes.
14- after clicking on the clinical note, there is another bar on the right-hand side called the new note tab.
15- then another page comes up that will ask the type of note whether it is History, treatment or podiatry initial assessment, or neurovascular review
16- in the condition, region, and stage drop-down box select the discipline you are involved in. (Podiatrist)
17- use the allocated space to write down your clinical notes, you will only have a 4-hour time frame to start and finish it and further editing is not possible, the tutor will log in after you and sign off on them, and the clinician can also make additional notes, you can read them in your next session.
18- to access the clinical note template, select the desired template and make choice from the stored options including podiatry new patient assessment, podiatry paediatric assessment, podiatry biomechanical assessment, podiatry neuro vascular review, podiatry falt foot proforma.
19- after selection of the template it will be inserted into your clinical notes
20- if the client has had any previous treatments which were recorded on paper the notes will be scanned in the attachment section,
21- Once you have finished your clinical note, change the patient appointment status to notes ready for tutor review.

SAFETY FAILURE

- letting the pt seat on the podiatry’ chair
- leaving the Bluey’s on the floor
C-in the treatment room computer log in
- check the internet is connected
- log into the computer first
- double click on the Front desk icon.
- put your log in details
- click on the calendar
- see the practitioner queue.
- hover mouse around the patient name
- double click on the patientns name to see the previous notes, patient name and date of birth. if the neurovascular assessment has done already, medication
- right click on the patient name and select the patient in a room
- call out the patient from the waiting area and guide them to the treatment room.
- *confirm the 3 identity points ( name, DOB, gender)
- Click on new notes to start SOAP*, Also you can open a new template
1-before going to treatment room
1- Always bring the Scalpel blade with you
2- Bring the Trolley of instruments to the corridor.
3- instruments you need to take on with you are a black file, a pack of nail clippers, an apron, a head of the drill, a container accompanied by gauze, wet wipes, a scalpel blade and scalpel Handel and Bluey
Note, wet wipes and Gauze should be in the trolley drawer. put them on the trolley before patients show up and putting on gloves
* before the treatment starts which is after ISBAR, every instrument should be ready and on the drawer. E.g, if you will e conducting a Neurological assessment, the tuning fork must be taken out of the drawer.

E-in the treatment room cleaning preparation before the patient arrives
- sanitise all the equipment and instrument including:
- treatment chair, scriber chair and patient take-off shoe chair
- sanitise the keyboard, lamp, doors handle and patient chair, Tab, and put the handles in upright position
- sanitise the trolley drawer.
- open the drawer and sanitise monofilament, tuning fork, goggles, and the bottels.
- put the blueys on the patient’s chair

drawer contents:
Wet wipes, Gauze, Tunning for and monofilament, Goggles and Containers are in the drawer and you do not need to bring it from outside of room

- Also, Blueys, cotton probes, PVP, Sterile dressing, chlorhexidine, and face mask are in the drawer.
** before starting the treatment, all the instruments should be ready and taken out of the drawer before putting on the PPE

AFTER TREATMENT
1- take off the PPE
2- call your tutor to see the patient and your treatment and discharge the patient
3- after the tutor’s confirmation, on the review slip write down the follow-up date.
4- handover the follow-up date to the patient and walk them to the receptionist.
5- complete your clinical notes. write down your name, 3rd year podiatrist, scriber name, and batch number of the instruments (Sign off)
6- Put the dirtt instrument in the container an d closed the lead with NO BLADE!
5- . Clean the treatment room, vacuum cleaning and wrap up the bin bag, and put the new bag one, sanitise the neurovascular assessment, throw the kimgard in the bin
