Fundraising
Since 1957, Christian Aid Week has been organised as a nationwide event in May each year
They raise money to be able to do work to relieve poverty
Emergency Aid
Has funds to deal with emergencies; without it people would die
They sent food, antibiotics and shelters to victims of the 2004 Bangladesh floods
Long-term Aid
Sees its functions as helping people to help themselves so that they will not need aid
In Afghanistan, they supported a scheme to increase wheat production and then share out the harvest fairly. This enables poor farmers to feed their families all year round
Education and Campaigning
Publishes a quarterly newspaper, ‘Christian Aid News’ and many educational materials
They give information about what Christian Aid is doing and also about world development and what can be done in LDCs
