1 Corinthians 15: St Paul said “But in truth Christ has been raised from the dead as the guarantee that those who sleep in death will also be raised.”
Christians can trust that they will follow Christ in resurrection as it says so in the Bible
Joan the Divine in Revelation
She states in Revelation that Christians will be brought before God on Judgement Day
Good Christians will go to Heaven and bad Christians will go to hell
This provides a purpose to Christian’s lives and gives them an incentive to be good
Church Teachings
The Catechism of the Catholic Church: “Those who have died in God’s grace and perfectly purified go to heaven… Those who have refused to believe will go to Hell.”
Christians should follow Church Teachings
Christians want to go to heaven as it is a place of eternal happiness so heaven is an incentive to be good on earth

“I am the resurrection and the life; he who believes in me, though he die, yet shall live.”
Christians should follow Jesus’ teachings
What is one extra point?
All four gospels record that Jesus was crucified and buried in a stone tomb. They all agree that he was not found in his tomb on the Sunday morning
How do beliefs about life after death affect Christians’ lives?
Not wanting to donate organs because on the last day bodies are resurrected.
Christians may act more kindly and follow the teachings of the Bible so that they do not go to Hell (Judgement Day)
Christians may act more kindly because they believe that there are people watching over from Heaven (e.g. dead relatives) and would not want to disappoint them.
Some Christians, for example Roman Catholics, believe in Purgatory and they can repent their sins there after dying. These Christians may not follow the Bible so carefully as they know that God will eventually forgive their sins
