Most beliefs in life after death assume that the mind/soul can survive without the body but scientific evidence shows that the human mind developed as the brain grew more complex

Hinduism, Buddhism and Sikhism believe in reincarnation whereas Judaism, Christianity and Islam believe in judgement, heaven and hell. If there was life after death then they should all believe in the same thing
