Most Christians are against euthanasia as it is seen as murder
The Ten Commandments state: “You shall not commit murder.” (Exodus 20)
Murder is forbidden in the Bible as a sin and Christians should not sin
The Ten Commandments are the foundation of Christian morality and should be followed
Sanctity of Life
1 Corinthians 3: “Surely you know that you are God’s temple and that God’s spirit lives in you.”
We are holy and belong to God
Most Christians cannot condone destroying God’s sacred creation
Roman Catholic Church: it is morally unacceptable
Catechism of the Catholic Church: “An act or omission which causes death in order to eliminate suffering constitues a murder.”
It is never permissible
Christians should follow the teachings of the Catechism
Most Christians will focus on improving the quality of life instead
The Christian Hospice Movement, set up by Cecily Sanders, devotes itself to improving the care of the terminally ill because “euthanasia as advocated is wrong… and is an admission of defeat.”
Because of hospices like these, it is unnecessary to euthanise terminally ill people
Most Christians will support these hospices instead of euthanasia
