- Upper Chest and sternal ribs
- Lower chest annd Lower ribs
- Upper back and space btwn shoulders
- Lower back and lower ribcage
Shoulder ER at Side (<90)
-upper back evaluation
- Pt in supine w/ elbow at 90, shoulder at side
- Let arm go into ER
-Normal is 60, if can’t achieve, limited in upper back/ST joint
Shoulder ER at 90
-lower chest evaluation
- Pt in supine at 90/90
- Let arm fall into ER
-Normal is 90, if can’t achieve, lower chest limited
Reaching Behind Upper Back
-lower back
-GH: ABD, FLX, ER
- Pt looks straight ahead
- Tell to reach to contra scapula
-Can’t? Limited in low back or ribcage
Reaching Behind Lower Back
-Upper chest
-GH: IR, EXT,
- Reach behind back to touch contra scapula
-Can’t? Limited in upper chest
Arm Position Evaluation
